If you’re new to metaphysics the Positive Head Podcast is a great introductory resource. But lack of consideration for marginalized experiences makes the content of the podcast rather shallow and lacking in empathy from its host. Let me explain.
I was born with a congenital health condition. I’m also queer. And I was raised in a New Age family. I have a deep, deep, deep lived-experience understanding of the pitfalls of Law of Attraction when applied to marginalized communities, and how make it more inclusive. I shared my perspective in Brandon’s Facebook group, which he chose to attack on an episode of his podcast claiming that marginalized communities should be proud to be marginalized because people like him (white, heterosexual men) will never experience marginalization. Spiritual gaslighting much? After that episode aired (episode 803) other fans reached out who had also been attacked by Brandon for not being “positive” enough in the Facebook group. You have been warned.
Edit:
I just listened to another episode of the Positive Head Podcast, one in which Brandon criticizes a listener for not engaging in constructive criticism. Brandon, if you read this, you criticized me in episode 803 FOR engaging in constructive criticism of Law of Attraction. So here’s some more:
It is obvious that you have no training in trauma-informed therapy, and yet, you dole out advice to listeners as if you do. That’s dangerous, both for liability reasons and because if they disagree with your advice, you attack them. Which is psychological abuse.
I stopped listening to the podcast because it became apparent that despite all your talk about keeping an open mind, that you are the most close-minded of the P-Head crew. You can’t seem to get past your own limited perception of “the ultimate nature of reality”. You couldn’t handle me having a different opinion based on professional and personal experience.
It’d behoove you to learn how to hold space for others. To dedicate more time to active listening and learning without the need for comment.
